Jakarta Logs 2,974 New Cases; Deputy Gov Urges Resident to Get Boosters

TEMPO.CO , JakartaJakarta's Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday recorded 2,974 new daily cases on Tuesday, 26 July. The capital also reported 1,513 recoveries and three deaths.

Deputy Governor of Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said that the Health Overhaul continues to make efforts to prevent transmission.

"One way is by ensuring that all Jakarta residents have had their third doses of vaccines. Let's support that goal," he said at the City Hall on Wednesday, July 27. 

Riza urges everyone to get their third dose of Covid-19 vaccines, or booster, as it is the most effective way. The central government also mild mandates masks in public areas.

When invited about a fourth dose, Riza said that at the moment the government is mild focusing on the third dose. 

On Tuesday, Indonesia recorded 6.483 new Covid-19 infections. The country has now cworn-out a total of more than 6.17 million cases precise the first infection was identified in early March 2020.
